Job overview

Full/Part Time Position from February 2023

King’s Bruton is an HMC co-educational boarding and day school of 370 pupils aged 13-18.

An inspirational and suitably qualified teacher of Spanish is required to join this very successful department from February 2023. The successful applicant will be a qualified teacher with either a specialist or MFL related degree.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Spanish teacher to make a genuine difference in the MFL department and to the progress of pupils at King’s. The successful applicant will teach A Level and GCSE Spanish, with a small amount of KS4 French.

At KS4, Spanish is one of three MFL options offered to pupils as part of the GCSE curriculum. Spanish remains a popular language option at A Level and pupils benefit from a fantastic programme of enrichment to further enhance and support teaching.

The role would suit a recently qualified teacher, or someone with more classroom experience who would enjoy the challenge of joining a dynamic and successful department. The successful applicant will be a creative and passionate teacher who enjoys helping pupils of all abilities succeed.

This is a maternity cover that commences from Monday 20th February through to July 2023, although this could be extended for the right candidate. We would encourage applications for both full/part time roles and will discuss options with suitable candidates.

Letters of application, completed application forms with curriculum vitae, should be sent to recruitment@kingsbruton.com

Closing date: 5pm on Friday 11th November 2022.

King’s Bruton is an independent co-educational boarding school committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

ISI report

“Relationships between staff and between pupils themselves are appropriate, and in their questionnaire responses the vast majority of boarders agree that they get on well together and feel safe in their boarding house. Staff are dedicated to the welfare of all pupils and provide a suitable structure for them to develop and thrive. Pastoral policies and procedures are effective and good behaviour is promoted.”
