We are looking to appoint a high quality, enthusiastic temporary Technology Teacher to join our large, successful Technology Department. The appointment is a 0.6 temporary contract for 1 year. Our Technology Department is very strong with an excellent record of producing GCSE and Advanced Level results with high value added scores. The suitable candidate will either have a good track record of excellent classroom practice and sustained added value outcomes for students, or we would also welcome applications from an NQT with the potential to achieve such results within a supportive department.
Our option numbers in KS4 and Sixth Form are extremely strong with high numbers of students studying Product Design and Textiles Technology at AS and A-Level. It is therefore essential that the successful candidate has the ability to teach Textiles and Food and Nutrition to GCSE standard and the ability to teach A-Level would be an advantage.
The Alun School, which is situated twelve miles from the historic city of Chester, is a co-educational comprehensive school with 240+ in each year group and a Sixth Form of almost 400 students. Our school offers an extremely supportive environment in which to work. Students are enthusiastic to learn, and behavioural issues are managed very successfully through our strong House system. We have a thriving programme of extra-curricular activities and relationships with parents are very good. All members of staff are very positive about their school and staff turnover is very low.
