Are you an inspirational, dedicated teacher who is committed to raising expectations and attainment? Do you consistently deliver well planned lessons, track individual pupil progress and provide structured feedback?

You will be teaching Design and Technology and Engineering across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 as part of our enthusiastic and collaborative Technology team. The faculty achieved excellent results in 2018/19 with both KS4 and KS5 achieving strong results, the Product Design and Engineering results were in the top 10% of results in the country. 

We are really privileged to have a state of the art building in Mendip Studio School.  It has specialist rooms and workshops which were designed and resourced in collaboration with our industry supporters, allowing students to access a wide range of specialist industry standard equipment and CAD/CAM/3D Printers, technical support is provided by well qualified and experienced Technicians.  All students and teachers have their own iPad for use in school and at home to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

Writhlington School is part of the Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership and is located on a large modern campus that benefits from exceptional media facilities, a 400-seat theatre and a Community Sports Centre. The school is committed to supporting staff in their professional development and working collaboratively to drive towards the goal of consistently refining pedagogy and practice with a pupil centred mindset

The teaching, leadership and pastoral support across the schools means that our students get the benefit of the shared facilities and curriculum opportunities. Mendip Studio School has recently received a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted. The inspection outcome is a testament to the hard work, talent and commitment of all staff across the campus.

New staff ideas are encouraged and there are a range of opportunities to lead and to contribute to its wide range of extracurricular activities: a large Combined Cadet Force, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and international links with Tanzania and Rwanda that support the 14-19 curriculum.
