Sir Harry Smith Community College is an 11-18 Academy, proud of its traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning and its standards of discipline and respect.  The College serves the market town of Whittlesey, seven miles outside of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.  

The Technology department is proud of its success and we are looking to recruit a new teacher who will be instrumental in the future of Design and Technology at the College.  The successful candidate will be flexible in their teaching and be an ambitious and inspiring outstanding classroom practitioner interested in joining our successful Design and Technology Department.  Graphics and Product Design make up the majority of our Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 projects.  A TLR may be available for a suitably experienced teacher.  

In November 2014, Ofsted graded Sir Harry Smith as a “Good school where students are proud of their school and behave with respect and consideration towards each other”. We pride ourselves on our sense of community and Ofsted recognised that the relationships between staff and students were positive.

Sir Harry Smith Community College is a mixed academy secondary school and Sixth Form for students aged 11-18.

The school was opened in 1953 on the site of Whittlesey Workhouse and is named after the Army General Sir Harry Smith who was born nearby.  The school converted to academy status in 2012 and is part of the Aspire Learning Trust along with local primary schools, Park Lane and New Road.
