Teacher of Technology

Fixed-Term contract for 1 year (Maternity cover)

(MPS)

St Paul’s Way Trust School, in association with Queen Mary University of London, is seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Technology in our popular and heavily oversubscribed through school (4-19).

This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented classroom teacher who is passionate about Technology and determined to help students develop their own enthusiasm. You will be a specialist at KS4 in at least one subject from Hospitality and Catering, Food Technology, Design Technology, or Product Design. We would prefer a food specialist where possible although you will be able to teach all Technology subjects at KS3. An experienced technology teacher is preferred although NQTs are more than welcome to apply and will be considered.

Design and Technology is a popular element of the curriculum for all ages from Year 7 through to Year 13. The subject is a compulsory part of the Key Stage 3 experience, using a flexible programme that currently delivers core competencies in Product Design, Graphics, CAD/CAM and Textiles. The subject area enjoys excellent dedicated teaching bases comprising a well-equipped Food & Nutrition room, a graphics suite and a Resistant Materials area.

The successful candidate will have an unwavering belief in the potential of every student, and a robust commitment to ensuring that every student succeeds. (S)he will be an outstanding classroom teacher who would also be willing to contribute to the school’s extensive extra-curricular programme.

In March 2013, Ofsted described the school as ‘Outstanding’ in every category, including the VI Form. We were recently designated as a National Teaching School. The school was commended for its “relentless pursuit of scholarship and excellence”. Our award winning new building is situated in the heart of East London and Professor Brian Cox OBE is our Patron.

If you would like to play your part in delivering outstanding provision for our students, we would very much like to hear from you.
