The Heart of Mercia Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), formed on 1 April 2019 and delivers post 16 education in Hereford, Stourbridge and Worcester. Hereford Sixth Form College is part of this Trust. The MAT has an annual budget of £28m and serves the needs of 5,500 students across the region.
Hereford Sixth Form College has over 2000 full-time 16-19 students and an excellent reputation for its results and extra-curricular provision. Rated Ofsted outstanding in 2007; the College consistently achieves one of the highest Advanced Level points scores per entry of over 100 SFC’s nationally and has outstanding value added results as measured by both the ALIS and ALPS systems.
The Enterprise and Travel and Tourism Department currently offers courses at BTEC Level 3 level, BTEC Tech Award Level 1/ 2 Enterprise and Eduqas Level 1/ 2 Tourism.
Enterprise and Travel and Tourism are popular and successful subjects and consistently achieved Grade 1 department status. There are currently three first year BTEC certificate groups per subject, two second year extended certificate year groups per subject, and one group per level 1/2 programme.
Four members of staff contribute to the work of the Department and do teach other subjects across the department. The areas work closely together, and most tutors have been involved in more than one area.
Due to an increase in numbers in Travel and Tourism, we are looking for a part-time member of staff to teach in the department. You will be a strong team player and be committed to a departmental ethos based on high quality teaching, excellent examination results, shared resources, and mutual support. You will have the ability to work with students and help them develop their ideas and give high quality feedback.
You will have a degree along with a teaching qualification and QTS. Experience of teaching Business Studies and/or Enterprise would be advantageous.
