Teacher of Visual Arts (Secondary School)
St. George’s the British International School, Munich, Germany.
St. George’s School seeks a well-qualified professional to teach in our flourishing secondary department, to start in February 2020.
Having opened in September 2013, St. George’s School Munich has rapidly developed into a thriving community of over 450 pupils and 70 teachers. The school continues to grow, and as the school matures we expect to reach 800 pupils. The school’s ethos of combining an enriching curriculum with family orientated care makes the school a warm and engaging place to work and learn.
In September 2017, the school embarked on an exciting phase of its development, as it moved to a new, purpose-built campus located in the city. These premises provide first-class educational facilities for all ages and subject areas.
The National Curriculum is taught throughout the school and we offer IGCSE qualifications to pupils in our Upper School. Students in the Sixth Form prepare the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
One of a group of three schools located across Germany, St. George’s offers the successful applicant an exciting range of opportunities for professional development and growth across the school group.
The school’s new campus is located in the area of Schwabing-Freimann, to the north of the city centre. The site enjoys good access to the U6 metro line, as well as the A9 motorway.
Germany’s third largest city, and the capital of the state of Bavaria, Munich is a dynamic and vibrant cultural centre, with a large and diverse international community. Situated on the northern edge of the Alps, Munich offers a high standard of living, as well as numerous opportunities for travel and outdoor pursuits.
Munich airport is located 30km from the school, with many daily flights to the UK, and high speed rail services connect Munich to a wide range of European destinations.
We are seeking to appoint a qualified Teacher of Visual Arts to work in our growing Secondary department.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic teacher with experience of enabling pupils to achieve their potential. We are looking for the right balance between experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching which will inspire our pupils.
Art is a valuable part of our curriculum and a popular option at examination level. It is a compulsory element of our middle school curriculum, and we offer art as an IGCSE subject in upper school. Pupils follow the IB curriculum in the sixth form. Familiarity with these examination courses would be an advantage. A strong desire to contribute to the rich pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school is also desired.
Only applications made through the TES online portal will be considered.
We require additional information for your application, please upload the following documents via the supporting documents link:
