The Role

An opportunity has risen for a well-qualified, ambitious and enthusiastic teacher of Physical Education to join our existing team of passionate staff. The Department

Our PE department currently consists of 4 excellent practitioners. We will provide a comprehensive support and mentoring programme for the successful candidate and ensure that you can fulfil your own ambitions and potential.

The School

Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and to accommodate a growing student population we have recently completed a further £10 million expansion project. Rated by Ofsted in April 2015 as a good school, with many outstanding features, we are now embarking on the next stage of our journey to outstanding and are looking for exceptional and inspiring individuals to help us achieve this ambition.

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will be expected to teach KS3/4/5 with the opportunity to deliver one of our many accredited courses in Physical Education. Experience teaching Level 2 BTEC would be an advantage and we would expect you to be fully committed to run, develop and contribute fully to our extensive range of extracurricular sports activities. Within the curriculum 15 sports and activities are taught along with numerous successful sports teams competing at local, regional and national levels. We are particularly interested in teachers with a keen interest in one or more of the following areas: Rugby League, Rugby Union, Trampoline, Tennis, Football, Gymnastics, Athletics, and Fitness.  The capability to inspire students and generate energy and enthusiasm for learning is a must.
