Position Information 

Macintyre High School is a progressive secondary school of 550 students (17% Aboriginal) located in Inverell. The school has an excellent reputation in the local community for the broad success of its students, the commitment of its staff, the strong leadership development initiatives available and the wide variety of interests which are catered for through the school’s diverse curriculum. The school receives equity funding to support students from Aboriginal backgrounds and from low socio-economic status communities. The PDHPE team is a highly collaborative faculty who are passionate about engaging students to develop a commitment to lifelong physical activity and healthy lifestyles. The PDHPE faculty are actively involved in whole school initiatives and supporting student wellbeing, whilst leading and organising school sport. Macintyre enjoys strong links with its partner primary schools. The school has extensive vocational education and community service programs which foster strong and positive partnerships with local community. 

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PHP) and Community and Family Studies (CFS). 
Approval and/or willingness to teach Exploring Early Childhood/Child Studies (ECS) and Sports Lifestyle and Recreation/Physical Activity and Sports Studies (SLR). 
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver high quality teaching programs for improving educational outcomes for a diverse range of students.
Demonstrated high level interpersonal and organisational skills with the capacity to work collaboratively as a dynamic member of the PDHPE team and across the school community.  
Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise technology to enhance student learning and develop future focused learning skills. 
Demonstrated capacity to integrate literacy and numeracy into PDHPE programs and contribute to whole-school cross curriculum goals. 
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
