Position Information 

Merewether High School is an academically selective school located in Newcastle and has 1085 students enrolled from a wide geographical area, including 16 Aboriginal students. Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach Personal Development Health Physical Education, Sport Lifestyle and Recreation, Physical Activity and Sports Studies and Community and Family Studies
  2. A proven success in using data to inform quality teaching and learning strategies to support High Potential and Gifted students.
  3. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with the whole school community to enhance a positive school culture and to strengthen whole school initiatives.
  4. Demonstrated experience to design and lead innovative programs that enhance the learning of High Potential and Gifted students and integrate technology into teaching and learning programs in Personal Development Health and Physical Education and Sports Coaching.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

From 8 November 2021 all Department of Education employees undertaking relevant work, including any work conducted on a NSW school site, will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
