Position Information 

Ryde Secondary College (Years 7-12) has an enrolment of 1280 students, including 77% students from a non-English speaking background. It is a comprehensive, co-educational high school with an academically selective cohort, an additional class for gifted and talented students, regular classes in each cohort and a support unit. The college has a strong focus on quality teaching, differentiated learning, collaborative teacher professional learning, social justice programs and a creative and positive learning environment. The college has extensive whole school, extracurricular, sporting and community partnership programs. This position will involve a willingness to lead and manage some whole school initiatives, including extracurricular activities and coordination of sports.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  • Approval to teach Personal Development Health & Physical Education (PHP), Sport,Lifestyle & Recreaction / Physical Activity & Sport (SLR) and Community and Family Studies (CFS).

  • Demonstrated quality teaching practice, experience in collaborative teaching practices and commitment to ongoing professional learning.  

  • Demonstrated implementation of formative assessment and high quality literacy practices in all classes.

  • Demonstrated ability and experience in writing differentiated teaching programs and quality assessments which comply with syllabus requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and work collaboratively on whole school initiatives, and as part of the faculty team.

  • Demonstrated capacity to manage the coordination of school sports programs.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
