Position Information 

Sefton High School (enrolment 1085 including 95% from non-English-speaking background) is a co-educational, academically selective school with a parallel community stream intake. The school is characterised by a focus of high expectations of all students and staff. Quality, evidence-based teaching and learning in a highly structured, disciplined learning environment permeates the school which is recognised and supported by the community. This results in students demonstrating excellent standards of attendance, academic achievement, conduct and personal growth. Students and staff combine to enjoy a wide range of co-curricular activities, notably in debating, leadership events and sport. Specific Selection Criteria 

1. Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Sport Lifestyle & Recreation and Community & Family Studies.

2. Demonstrated ability to differentiate teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students in physical education lessons across a range of movement skills including invasion games and aquatics and willingness to teach Dance within PDHPE programs.

3. Proven capacity to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create PDHPE classrooms that are dynamic, engaging, inclusive and foster a culture of high expectations.

4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to work as part of a team to build positive relationships with staff, students and parents for improved student outcomes.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
