Exceptional People Deserve Exceptional Staff

Livability’s Millie College will be a new education provision in Dorset to provide first-class education to local students leaving school at 16 with disabilities, no matter what barriers they may face. This exciting new college sets out to meet three strategic aims:

• Supporting lifelong learning for all

• Enabling access to high-quality education

• Supporting young people to live safe and independent lives.

The college will deliver personalised learning through a bespoke methodology of class, outdoor and community-based learning spaces, depending on the learners’ choice, interests and future ambitions.

Our unique site at Holton Lee enables us to deliver Enterprise activities such as Horticulture, Animal Care, Catering and Nature Tourism, that our students will develop their skills in order to use these in their lives.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate teacher to provide high standards of education and support to our students with educational, physical, medical and complex needs.

Ideally you will have experience of teaching those with significant and complex learning needs, however if you have a genuine interest in a career within special education, please apply including your areas of expertise. NQT applications are welcome.

You will take responsibility for a class, supported by a team of TAs and therapists. Post-holders will have the opportunity to take a lead role in curriculum development and to explore innovative approaches to teaching students with SEN.

The successful candidates will be able to inspire students through the delivery of engaging lessons, support our pupils to reach their full potential, build positive relationships and ensure every student’s achievements are recognised and celebrated.

Learning is the key to students’ future lives. We believe that successful learning comes from skilful teaching; learning should be fun with an emphasis on the development of self-esteem and confidence.

Please email recruitment@victoria.poole.sch.uk for further details.

Closing date:  31st May 2022
