We are seeking to recruit additional teacher primary to support the COVID-19 Restart and Recovery Programme within Applegarth and Hutton Partnership.  This position is for 7 hours per week (0.2FTE) for a temporary period up to one year.

 

The successful applicant will undertake a variety of teaching duties as required at different stages to meet the needs of the school and to compensate for any loss of learning suffered by pupils during the COVID-19 lockdown.  You will be responsible for aspects of planning, assessment and reporting as directed by the Headteacher.

 

Hutton and Applegarth Primary Schools are rural schools with rolls of 8 and 33 pupils respectively.  Situated 4 miles north of Lockerbie, Applegarth School is easily accessible from the M74 and serves the villages Millhousebridge, Sibbaldbie and surrounding areas.  Hutton Primary nestles in the village of Boreland only 7 miles from Lockerbie and serves the local area extending as far as Eskdalemuir.  Applegarth and Hutton are welcoming rural schools which provide a warm, enriching and stimulating environment in which our pupils are encouraged to fulfil their potential.

Staff from Applegarth and Hutton primaries work very closely and collaboratively, coming together for partnership days and staff development.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
