Job overview

Rephad Primary is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Primary Teacher to work two days per week (14 hours) throughout session 2017-18.

Your role will be to help drive and promote our pupil equity agenda through working alongside classroom teachers and practitioners to share good practice and build professional capacity.

Your role will include working alongside colleagues to support all our young people, with a particular focus on ensuring that no young person experiences disadvantage in their education due to poverty or other barriers to learning.

You will have opportunity to contribute significantly to supporting, nurturing and ensuring the wellbeing of a range of young people.

You will work closely with the Headteacher, school staff and parents to help develop and support pupil equity and our vision, values and aims.

As part of your working day, you will be required to undertake two weekly after school sessions from 3.00-5.00 to provide a range of after school support and activities for pupils and parents.

Specific working patterns may be open to discussion and some flexibility.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

This is a temporary post for a period up until June 2018. This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
