Closeburn Primary School is situated three miles from Thornhill. It is part of a small rural community which supports the work of the school. The school has a welcoming ethos with supportive parents, a friendly staff team and enthusiastic pupils.

We strive to be a progressive and forward looking team who embrace the opportunities to make a positive difference to the lives of the children in our school community. Staff are encouraged to play an active and dynamic role in all school activities and developments.

The position is for 1 and ½ days a week (plus non-contact entitlement and planning/preparation time).

The successful applicant will initially undertake a variety of teaching duties as required at different stages to meet the needs of the school. You will be responsible for aspects of planning, assessment and reporting as directed by the Headteacher.

Interviews for this post will take place on Friday 22nd September 2017.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
