We are looking for a primary or nurture teacher who can develop and deliver our literacy and numeracy focused curriculum to a small group of KS3 students.

Olive AP Academy – Thurrock runs a short term KS3 programme which focuses on the development of our students’ social, emotional and mental health through the delivery of an innovative, integrated, therapeutic curriculum. 

We are seeking a teacher who is passionate about supporting young people who have often found school a challenge. A teacher who shares our determination to improve our students’ life chances and give them learning opportunities which stimulate and excite. Our ideal candidate would be an experienced primary or nurture teacher who wants to develop their practice - engaging KS3 children in more dynamic learning. A teacher who can:

- demonstrate the highest quality of teaching, learning and assessment – inspiring our students; sharing a passion for learning 

- work closely with our headteacher, our staff, parents/ carers and our students to deliver our strategic vision and help make our ambitious plans for the academy a reality

- be committed to tackling disadvantage and improving every student’s wellbeing and life chances.

Olive AP Academy - Thurrock

Just 40 minutes from central London by train, Olive AP Academy - Thurrock is based in Tilbury. Our brand new building opened to staff and students in summer 2017. The academy was graded as 'Good' in all areas at its last Ofsted inspection in December 2018.

We work with pupils who have been permanently excluded from school and those who have medical needs.  Our alternative provision academy has up to 96 students aged between 11 and 16 on roll at any one time. 

Olive AP Academy – Thurrock is part of the Olive Academies Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), approved by the Department for Education. Established in 2013, it is one of the first academy sponsors specialising in alternative provision in England. 

Our aim is to transform the lives of children and young people for whom traditional teaching methods have not worked. We help our pupils develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to believe that they can be successful in their own lives.
