About our School

Corseford School in Renfrewshire provides educational, care and therapy to children and young people with complex additional support needs. In the publication of the School Inspection Report of June 2015, Education Scotland quoted “Children and young people in Corseford School are learning and achieving very well. They enjoy school, are very well cared for and respond positively to the high expectations that staff have for them. Across the school, staff have established a supportive and nurturing climate for learning where children and young people are empowered to communicate, make choices and do as much as they can for themselves.”

We are looking to recruit full time and part time class Teachers at Corseford who are able to adapt their teaching style to meet the needs and abilities of individual children. You will be required to offer a varied curriculum, following Curriculum for Excellence and linked to standards in mainstream schools, National 1, 2 and 3. You will join a team of supportive classroom staff and have access to some of the latest technology.

Key Requirements

  • Registered with the GTCS
  • Knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and GIRFEC
  • Have experience of working with children with additional support needs is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Willingness to undertake any personal development opportunities.

Corseford School is a small and friendly grant aided special school situated in Johnstone, near Glasgow providing high-quality educational and therapeutic provision.  We have a roll of up to 20 pupils aged from 5 -18. We have excellent facilities, such as a sensory theatre, soft play, and extensive grounds, as well as a dedicated care and allied health staff to support our learners
