Job overview

Wardle Academy seeks to appoint a suitably qualified, dynamic and inspirational Teacher of RESPECT/RELIGIOUS STUDIES (RS)  to join our team and work with our students.

Wardle Academy  is part of the Watergrove Trust.  The Trust is situated in the West Pennine area, where community and faith schools work in partnership to serve our diverse local area.  We share the same drive and determination to promote the best possible academic standards, whilst developing young people of unique character, preparing them for their lives ahead.

Wardle Academy is located in a semi-rural setting serving the local community. The Academy is easily accessible, within close proximity to the M62 motorway and Smithy Bridge train station.

We require individuals with the potential to be exceptional.  You will maximize the potential of our students by raising their aspirations as well as their attainment.

The successful candidate will have the ability to plan an effective curriculum experience, using student information to inform planning and progression.  You will have high expectations of students, based on a sound knowledge of their prior and potential attainment.

Whilst ensuring effective whole class, group or individual learning opportunities are available to students which engage and challenge all, you will set high standards of expectations of student conduct.

Wardle Academy was inspected by Ofsted in December 2017 and judged to be good in all aspects. We are determined to carry on improving. An essential part of this is the training and development of staff; we encourage our colleagues to seek courses and opportunities which will help them  advance the Academy whilst also providing them with new skills, knowledge and career prospects.

You will be:

  • An excellent teacher
  • Passionate about the quality of education our young people experience
  • Somebody who thrives on responsibility and hard work, and wants to develop themselves in the role
  • Able to use your own initiative
  • Willing to go the ‘extra mile’ for our young people

We can offer you:

  • A friendly and welcoming school community
  • Wonderful students who enjoy learning
  • The opportunity to work with highly committed and enthusiastic staff
  • The chance to contribute towards our transformational ethos
  • Excellent CPD focused on an outstanding curriculum experience
  • Excellent facilities
  • Cycle scheme
