Grange School is seeking to appoint a teacher for students aged 4-19 years, who have a range of special educational needs. We welcome applications from Teachers who have experience in SEN schools who have the capacity to develop their skills quickly. This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to join the inspiring and highly skilled team at Grange School. We are a happy, lively school where both staff and pupils enjoy learning and achieving together.

We are looking for a Teacher who is an outstanding classroom practitioner, the successful candidate will possess the ability to share their practice, work with a positive and optimistic outlook and drive forward improvements.  


At Grange school, we have state of the art facilities in the building and grounds which provide an environment suitable for the learning needs of all our children and young adults. These facilities are designed differently to suit different pupils. We have a range of specialist rooms and specialist provisions including a soft play area and light room as well as a variety of outside spaces, including a Forest School space with facilities for outdoor learning.

The Trust currently comprises of 8 schools, including 4 mainstream high schools and 4 special needs schools (both primary and secondary). We are a growing Trust, currently working in the South Manchester area but with further schools anticipated across Greater Manchester. The Trust was formed in September 2017 through the merger of two multi academy trusts. We currently employ over 900 staff and are passionate about providing exceptional education for children from any background so that they become happy, confident adults with excellent academic knowledge and qualifications. We believe that our staff play a vital role in achieving our vision.

The Grange School is a special school located in Levenshulme, Manchester which provides 247 day places for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans, who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). Grange offers a bespoke education for a wide range of pupils between EYFS and KS5 through the provision of a carefully planned and stimulating environment where the pupils can explore, investigate and learn. The bespoke Know and Remember Curriculum has been devised to ensure pupils have access to all the statutory content from the National Curriculum, delivered through engaging and challenging classroom activities. Pupils are set targets each term and progress is measured throughout the school year using our bespoke pupil data system.

Grange School offers some of the most exciting and engaging curriculum enrichment activities to support the pupil’s learning. We have an on-site farm with alpacas, pigs and ducks, alongside guinea pigs, rabbits, tortoises and a gecko. An enhanced learning area called the Know Globes supports the delivery of the Remember More Curriculum, and a full-size role play area known as Imagination Village enables pupils to practise real-world skills such as using money, work in our on-site post office and mail delivery service or experience several other real-world settings, including a grocer’s, a doctor’s surgery, a vet’s, a bakery and a mechanics garage.

KS4 and KS5 have a curriculum designed around the world of work and offer accredited courses in English, maths and PSHE in KS4, along with a range of qualifications as they move into KS5 – including Active Sports and Leisure, Catering and Hospitality and Construction, to name but a few.
