Are you ready for your next challenge in Engineering?

TEACHER (Senior Tutor) in Engineering

Salary: Up to £37,588.00 per annum

Located in Harlow

Permanent

Full and Part Time hours available

The NEW £11million Harlow Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Centre (HAMEC) opened in January on Harlow College’s campus. This is a major investment for Harlow and will increase the number of skilled engineers and apprentices required not only in the local area but in the region. Want to become part of a team to train the next generation of Engineers?

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and talented Engineering staff to join the growing Engineering team at Harlow College. This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your skills and inspire the next generation by working in Further Education. Working in a vibrant and positive learning environment, you will play a key role in preparing, planning, co-ordinating, assessing and delivering both theory and practical sessions to our Engineering learners.

A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Engineering OR a degree (or equivalent) is essential, however you don't need to have a qualification in teaching, just a passion for your specialism, strong communication skills and be willing to train on the job, as we will support staff to undertake a teaching or assessing qualification, if not already held.

Our full time teaching staff normally teach up to 24 hours per week during term time.

The successful candidate can expect investment in their personal and professional development as well as an excellent benefits package including 42 days annual leave plus bank holidays and an excellent Pension Scheme (Teachers’ Pension Scheme)

Still unsure if this is the right role for you? Contact Tom Stokes on 01279 868178 for an informal discussion.

If you are looking to work within a challenging and fast paced organisation whereby we believe all our people, both staff and students, have the potential to succeed in whatever they set their minds to then this is the role for you. This college is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
