Position Information

Glenvale School (SSP) is in the Mooney Mooney Principal Network. It has a current enrolment of over 150 students and caters for students in years K-12 with a range of disabilities and abilities. The educational philosophy focuses on each student and their learning needs with a clear emphasis on developing individual learning plans and programs based on SMART goals and assessment.

Glenvale School is spread over three sites. The main campus of sixteen classes is at Narara; a satellite class for primary aged students is located within Valley View Public School, and eight classes are located on the beachfront at The Entrance North campus. Glenvale School provides individual education programs for students with a variety of complex learning needs. Most students have a moderate or severe intellectual disability, and many have multiple disabilities. Staff are highly skilled in teaching students with all disabilities, and the school is focused on investing in technology for learning and teacher development.

The NSW Syllabus Statements and the Australian Curriculum form the basis of the learning programs for students. Laying the foundations of communication skills linked with practical skills emphasises the teaching and learning programs across the school.

The community sees providing a safe, caring, and positive learning environment as one of the most important goals of the school. The authenticity of student learning programs aims to support students as they strive to develop social, emotional, communication and educational skills that will lead to greater independence.
