Milperra Public School is located in South Western Sydney- Inner region with an enrolment of 304 students. The school consists of 279 mainstream students and 4 support classes with students who have autism and/or moderate intellectual disabilities. 3.5% of students are of Aboriginal descent and 32% of students are from a non-English speaking background. The school has strong relationships with an energetic P&C consisting of parents, caregivers and the wider community. Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with Autism, Behaviour Difficulties, Moderate Intellectual Disability and other complex support and learning needs, demonstrating commitment to the Department of Education’s Disability Strategy in a support unit or mainstream setting.
- Implementation of high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy teaching and learning experiences guided by effective assessment and feedback to enhance student outcomes, engagement and agency.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with key stakeholders to promote learning and enhance student wellbeing.
- Demonstrated willingness and capacity to contribute to and/or lead extracurricular activities and/or initiatives.
