Position Information 

St Helens Park Public School is an inclusive and dynamic learning environment which caters to a diverse community, situated in the South-Western Sydney local government area of Campbelltown.  There are currently 15 mainstream classes and 3 support classes meeting the needs of our 380 students, which includes 21 students in our Support Unit Emotional Disturbance. 35% of students identify as coming from a non-English speaking background and 15% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. There is a strong emphasis on differentiating learning experiences to engage and challenge all students and provision of extracurricular activities in creative and performing arts and sport. The school has a dedicated staff who work closely with the parent community to make St Helens Park Public School a strong, dynamic learning environment.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Emotional Disturbance (Primary)
  2. Well-developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage proactively and professionally with students, parents, and carers, from a diverse range of backgrounds, staff, support agencies and the wider community, as part of a collaborative team to improve student outcomes.
  3. Outstanding classroom practice with the demonstrated ability to implement quality personalised learning and behaviour support plans for students with complex needs and the capacity to develop, deliver and evaluate highly engaging and differentiated learning programs
  4. Strong classroom management skills and wellbeing practices, including trauma-informed positive education strategies with the ability to create an inclusive, engaging and positive learning environment. 
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
