Position Information 

Bonnyrigg Public School has an enrolment of 281 students and is located in the Cowpasture Network. The Itinerant Vision team based at Bonnyrigg Public School comprises of 6 teaching positions. Each teacher has a caseload and works with students from Preschool to Year 12 across several school networks. Students are from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The Itinerant Support Teacher Vision develops and implements quality individualised programs for students on their caseload. They liaise with and support teachers across various settings to develop inclusive education programs and enhance learning outcomes for students with vision impairment.

Suitable applicants are required to hold a current driving license, daily access to a vehicle and the ability and willingness to travel between worksites.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  • Approval to teach students with vision impairment (Itinerant)
  • Capacity to develop, implement and monitor learning and support plans that address the Expanded Core Curriculum of vision impaired students. 
  • Knowledge of Braille literacy and numeracy.
  • Demonstrated understanding of adaptive technology to support students with vision impairment. 
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and capacity to work professionally and effectively with school communities and external service providers.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
