Job overview

The Bridge School is a dynamic and forward-thinking special school for pupils aged 3 - 19 with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties. A large percentage of pupils also have an autistic spectrum disorder.

We have an exciting opportunity for a teacher looking to either continue a career in special needs or for a mainstream teacher interested in a new area of teaching. You will work effectively as part of a team to provide stimulating and interesting learning opportunities for pupils, helping them to develop in all areas.
* SEN allowance may be available.

Special school experience is desirable but we would welcome interest from all teachers. An existing knowledge and understanding of different approaches to making the National Curriculum relevant to the varied needs of the pupils or a willingness to learn is essential.

You will offer us:

  • enthusiasm, flexibility and a commitment to special education
  • the ability to make learning and teaching fun and functional
  • a willingness to improve your skills, try out new ideas and share good practice
  • the capacity to lead on an area of learning once you are established in the school.

Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged.
