Position Information

Westport Campus forms an innovative college structure with the Port Macquarie Campus as part of Hastings Secondary College. A Support Unit provides programs for 46 students with special needs. The college offers contemporary, innovative and personalised provision of learning for every student. To achieve this, college staff work together to achieve the college goals of excellence, innovation, opportunity and success. Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) systems and practices support a culture which values safe, respectful and personal best behaviour. A shared Stage 6 senior curriculum model operates across Hastings Secondary College to provide students with a diverse range of subjects. Stage 4 students have the opportunity to apply for one of three Academies: Creative Industries, Sport and STEM. These Academies cater for students with special talents and interests, allowing them to be extended and further developed in these areas. Students not involved in academies are well catered for by a range of Personal Interest Project classes. Hastings Secondary College, Westport Campus has developed strong partnerships with Port Macquarie Campus and seven local public schools as a member of the Hastings Valley Community of Schools. The campus is strongly supported by an active Parents and Citizens’ Association, local academic providers and a range of community organisations.
