Teaching ServiceRyde Secondary College is a comprehensive coeducational high school Years 7-12, with enrolments close to 1300 students. The College has an academically selective cohort, an additional gifted and talented class and mainstream classes in each cohort. It also has a large Support Unit and an active Learning and Support Team.
Ryde Secondary teachers are focused on quality teaching, building student wellbeing, student voice, social justice programs and a creative and positive future focused learning environment. They also lead extensive whole school, extracurricular, sporting and community partnership programs. These reflect the diverse student body and help develop each child's academic, social and sporting potential. The TAS faculty is an active leader in whole school programs such as the Annual Fashion Show, community partnerships with local primary schools and student engagement. It provides a diverse and differentiated curriculum which is supported by outstanding teaching resources and updated technology, such as a newly installed Trotec Laser Cutter.
1. Approval to teach Technology Mandatory and Engineering Studies. Willing to teach Information Software Technology (IST).
2. Demonstrated capacity to differentiate teaching and learning for GAT and mixed ability classes.
3. Demonstrated ability to implement the explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy to students from a diverse range of ability levels and backgrounds.
4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a proven capacity to contribute to the faculty and whole school activities.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
