Job overview

TEACHER, to support pupils with SEND needs

 FULL TIME, PERMANENT

We are looking for a teacher who has the attributes and skills to support targeted pupils with SEND needs, and could start at the earliest opportunity.

This is a new role for the school, which will further enhance an already successful school provision. It is also an opportunity to be part of a forward thinking MAT, Anglian Learning, which has a positive reputation across the East of England.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher, who has experience supporting pupils with SEND needs, who will be working in small class sizes with high staff to pupil ratios. The role would involve planning and delivering high quality learning opportunities in line with the school’s curriculum, while enabling pupils to make good progress towards their EHCP outcomes or any SEND support plans they have.

The SENCO will be your line manager. You will be expected to lead a small team of teaching assistants and contribute towards the training of these staff to support pupils with specific needs. The role will involve liaising closely with class teachers and working together to form effective plans to support pupil outcomes.

Therefore, we are looking for someone who is able to engage pupils in the learning process and support them with their emotional literacy, while assisting them to access all parts of school life.

Our prime concern is to appoint the best candidate who we feel can enhance our school team and provide our pupils with top quality learning experiences.

We believe that learning happens best when we work together as a team and everyone shares an interest in personal and school development in order to provide the best experiences we can for the children who attend our school. We are looking for someone to join the team who has ideas, is inspired by young learners and wants to really make a difference to the outcomes of all children.

We can offer:

  • Commitment to your professional development both by Fen Ditton Staff and Anglian Learning MAT
  • Enthusiastic and hardworking children who are a joy to support
  • A friendly, hardworking dedicated staff team who are incredibly supportive and have created a wonderful school ethos to be part of.
  • A great school, recently judged by Ofsted in April 2022 as being good.
  • Being part of Anglian Learning Multi Academy Trust, who are regarded very highly in the East of England. The Trust provide fantastic support to the school and its staff with many future opportunities available. There are pathways for every employee in the Trust, to either develop within their current role or change and progress in a different role.
  • A Health and Wellbeing Charter, which includes free use of the sporting facilities across the MAT for staff.
  • The Trust provide support with matters outside of the school, e.g. counselling and advice.
  • There is a strong commitment to wellbeing at the school.
