Hours: 35 hours per week

We are looking for a dynamic and committed Teacher / Trainee Teacher to join our Education Team and provide the best educational experiences and outcomes for learners in a purpose built school in a unique location near Banff.

We require a Teacher / Trainee Teacher with the capacity to deliver across the primary and secondary curriculum. You will have the opportunity to work across the Curriculum for Excellence and deliver innovative and exciting learning experiences both in and out of the classroom.  Continuous development and improvement informs our approach to learning. We are committed to providing a nurturing environment within which our learners are included, valued and are supported to achieve and develop their resilience.  The successful candidate will have the capacity to support our learners to attend, attain and engage in a wide range of learning experiences that respond to their individual needs.

You will undergo certified training and refresher courses in a range of areas including Safeguarding, Team Teach, First Aid and any other specialist training that responds to the needs of our children and young people.  The successful candidate will be required to be registered with the General Teaching Council (Scotland) and hold PVG Membership through Disclosure Scotland.

Troup House School is a specialist School Care Accommodation service located in Rural Aberdeenshire offering Care and Education to children and young people with additional support needs and who are looked after away from home. Troup House School is an SQA presenting centre inspected by the HMIe (Education Scotland) and the Care Inspectorate.

About Troup House School

Troup House School is a specialist day and residential school that has a strong reputation and proven record of accomplishment for providing a high standard of education and care to young people between the ages of 8 to 16+ years with additional support needs including social, emotional and mental health difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and challenging behaviour. Our young people may also experience difficulties with learning as a result of the effects of trauma, disrupted educational experiences and multiple residential placements.
