The John Fielding School is a special school that caters for pupils with Severe and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties aged 3 -19 years. Teaching and Learning takes place in small class groups with a high level of support and a well-differentiated curriculum to meet individual needs. If you are enthusiastic, innovative, committed and conscientious and motivated to teach pupils with complex learning difficulties then this is the opportunity for you. We require a teacher who is able to inspire a staff team and a small class of pupils with a wide range of additional needs. We wish to appoint a committed professional who is lively and has a positive personality to join our team.   We welcome teachers with special needs experience and teachers transferring from mainstream.

A TLR award for Primary Phase Lead is also available subject to the successful candidate’s experience and skill set. 

You will have:

• An interest in, and proven successful experience within special educational needs
• The ability to use your SEND experience to effectively mentor and coach other staff
• Good communication skills and sense of humour
• A firm commitment to building children’s self-esteem and to raising standards
• An ability to teach creatively with high pupil expectations
