Job overview

Job Title: Teaching & Learning Assistant

Job reference: 12908

Job Advert Text:

An exciting opportunity has arised for a Teaching & Learning Assistant for our 14-16 young people. For this role, you will support our young people to learn the essential skills they need for a career in an industry they're passionate about.

We recognise that some young people like to learn differently and school isn't always the best place for them. So we provide a young adult environment to help them get a head start on a career they're passionate about.  At the end of Year 9, they can choose to leave school and join us, studying for their GCSEs and learning essential skills for an industry they're interested in. They get more independence, more focus on a career they want to do and loads of practical, hands-on lessons.

In this role you will provide high quality one to one support to our students in both academic and vocational classes. This support will be provided during scheduled teaching and learning sessions and enrichment programmes.  Applicants must be able to demonstrate empathy, sensitivity and have the ability to develop and sustain rapport with students.

Applications will close once enough applications have been received.

We also have a specialist hotel school and flagship restaurant, industry-focused hubs, and a unique enterprise village with a salon, florist, café and gym. All of our exceptional facilities are enhanced with the incredible personal support we offer to every one of our students.

We have launched the L20 Hotel School where the qualifications delivered will fulfil the needs of the Liverpool City Region tourism sector and help provide well trained and job ready students to the city’s growing visitor economy.

We are also responding to the exciting SuperPort developments right on our doorstep by creating Port Academy Liverpool, which offers port operations courses that allow our learners to forge careers in this exciting, global and well paid sector.

The personal support we offer our students is outstanding and our learners tell us they like our safe and secure campus, and the friendly multicultural atmosphere. It’s a grown up environment where people treat each other equally and with respect.

We are continually looking to develop our facilities and this we have opened our new state-of-the-art gym and fitness centre in collaboration with Lifestyle Fitness. The centre is accessible by students and staff as well as being open to members of our local community.
