Bedford High School is a community secondary school with approximately 1080 students across two sites. Our last Ofsted inspection was judged Good. Our school values are To Care, To Learn, To Achieve. Bedford High School seeks to appoint an experienced, effective and enthusiastic Teaching and Learning Coordinator of Design Technology to join our team to implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and support a designated curriculum area as appropriate. We are looking for a candidate with creative leadership skills who will plan a diverse and engaging programme.

We truly believe that every child matters and we push to get the best out of each student. Not all of our pupils have access to the same resources or opportunities outside of the school gates: we want to look and learn new ways to encourage learning and revision.

The successful candidate will contribute to the subject areas aims under the leadership of the Faculty Lead. You will secure continuous improvement leading to transformation in teaching and learning, raising standards and producing the highest levels of student achievement. You will be accountable for leading, managing and developing the teaching and learning within the department. And you will effectively lead, manage and develop teaching and support staff and financial resources within the department in collaboration with the Faculty Lead.

You will contribute to raising standards of student attainment and share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
