About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching and Learning Coordinator to join our vibrant and comprehensive team at St Mary MacKillop College. 

This leadership role involves modelling of excellence in teaching and learning and the development of innovative and challenging curriculum. Such Curriculum will offer academic rigour while at the same time be appropriate to the students within a particular curriculum area.

The position of the Curriculum Coordinator necessitates that the incumbent be exemplary in leading, supporting and promoting an atmosphere where Catholic principles and practices flourish and permeate acrss all areas of the curriculum.

Please note that this position is for an initial two-year period with an opportunity for further extensions. Two further extensions (each of four years) may be offered based on performance outcomes. The position will be underpinned by a permanent (ongoing) teaching position within Catholic Education.


Essential Criteria

The College is looking for demonstrated excellence in the following areas:

  • Demonstrate the capacity to communicate clearly and appropriately for purpose.
  • Be able to act as a change agent with care and consideration, showing respect to all who you will work with.
  • Possess excellent listening and relationship building skills.
  • Work as part of a team to achieve outcomes in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Possess excellent mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with external agencies to facilitate and implement programs such as AST, NAPLAN, PAT, TIMMS and PISA.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect for all teachers, students and parents they work with.
    Possess high level research and data skills.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the AISTL Professional Standards for Teachers and the capacity to lead and support these within the College context.
  • Possess the to ability to create and develop relationships between the College and educational and other community agencies.
  • Possess the ability to conduct professional conversations that enhance a positive workplace, reflecting high levels of professional and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and independently to achieve desired outcomes.
