The opening of the new regional Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service hospital, Red Kite View, has enabled us to offer this unique and exciting position as a Teaching and Learning Manager (TLR2B) in the Medical Needs Teaching Service (MNTS). The successful candidate will contribute to leading outstanding teaching and learning in this custom-built provision, due to open autumn 2021.

We are seeking to appoint an individual with vision and drive, who is motivated to lead the education team in this setting; an experienced and enthusiastic teacher who will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality education to young people in Red Kite View hospital. The person appointed will contribute to the MNTS leadership team. 

The successful candidate will be:

  • able to manage, motivate, monitor and lead the Red Kite View education team
  • an enthusiastic and creative teacher of either English, Maths or Science
  •  able to work constructively with other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • able to contribute to the MNTS leadership whole service vision

The MNTS is a service commissioned by Leeds Local Authority through a Service Level Agreement with the East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre, and the MNTS delivers learning in four settings across Leeds. This post will be based, in the first instance, at Red Kite View (CAMHS Hospital).

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments will be to the Medical Needs Teaching Service which is part of the East SILC and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference check.
