Nelson Academy has an exciting opportunity for a part time teaching assistant to join their supportive team , this opportunity is initially until 31 August 2023, this role is linked to funding to offer support to an individual child.  

Grade D, £4,547 - £4,638 pro rated, per annum (April 2022 pay award pending) 

10 hours per week 

Term-time plus 1 week (39 weeks per year) 

Closing date: 12 October 2022 Noon 

Interview Date: Week commencing 17 October 2022

Role Purpose

Nelson Academy is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant. Under the instruction/guidance of teaching or other senior staff, you will undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support an individual pupil , this will include more specialised support to enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. 

The successful candidate will,  in liaison with the teacher, provide support to the pupil to allowing them to achieve learning goals and participate in learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress, enabling regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, etc.

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will have a Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent and a minimum of Level 2 qualifications in both English and Maths of grade A*- C.

You will have a good knowledge of safeguarding regulations within an education setting and experience of classroom management.
