Do you have these core traits to be a successful change maker and Teaching Assistant at Bader Academy?

We are proud and excited to be opening a brand new special academy in September 2020 called Bader, based in Doncaster. You can help create a forward thinking, innovative culture where pupils and staff can truly flourish.

Bader is being developed to meet the needs of children and young people, aged 5-19, who have an Education, Health and Care Plan with a primary diagnosis of Communication and Interaction Difficulties.

Our ambition and yours will be that Bader becomes a centre of excellence for both the specialist provision and for promoting the latest inclusive practices across education.

Our children at Bader deserve an education that will change their lives and give them the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Staff employed in our academy Trust enjoy a fulfilling career and we focus on releasing your potential and maximising your impact.

Nexus Multi Academy Trust was founded in 2016 and has the highest ambitions possible for everyone we work with.

The vision for Nexus is that we are constantly “Learning together; to be the best we can be.”

This vision is what we aspire to and is as relatable to every employee and partner of our Trust as it is to our children, young adults and their families

Our Opportunity

We are looking for to appoint a number of teaching assistants who have a real passion to support and enable the learning and development of the children in our brand new academy. The position will appeal to experienced teaching assistants and in particular individuals who have other skills to offer like a background in the Arts, Technology, IT, PE or mental health, as we feel these attributes will complement the role well. We are looking for practitioners who have an innovative approach to their work and aren’t afraid to think of new and interesting approaches to the support they offer.

As part of our first year of opening we looking for practitioners to work with pupils across the Primary age range up to Year 7. Supporting learning within their classroom environment as well as their personal and social development during socialising periods through break and lunch times.

Whether you are an experienced teaching assistant who has worked within specialist educational needs or someone who has exceptional vocational skills and a real drive to make a difference in children’s lives, you must be able to provide our children with aspirations for their futures along with promoting a positive culture in everything you do.

What you can expect

• An exciting opportunity to join brand new special academy with a new cohort of pupils

• A thriving environment where you will be supported and encouraged to think in new ways

• An opportunity to join colleagues who will make you proud to be part of our state education system.

• Access to tailored CPD through Nexus Academies Trust and the Opportunity Area which includes pathways into Initial Teaching Training.

• Working within an award winning MAT who pride themselves on having friendly supportive schools who together are helping to transform communities

The date of commencement for this post will be autumn 2020. Interviews will be held as soon as possible after the closing date.

Closing date: Monday 20 April 2020
