Term Time Only

30 hours per week as follows:

TA2 for 25 hours per week

PLUS Midday Supervisor responsibilities for 5 hours per week

39 weeks worked per year - 46 (TA)/44.65 (MSA) weeks paid per year

(FTE Grade 1 £17,842 to Grade 3 £18,562)

Pro-rata salary starting from £13,159 p.a.

St Mary's School, as part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust,  is a 'Good' all-boys SEMH Special school, set in Marynards Green/Horam, and we are seeking to recruit two Teaching Assistant 2 (with midday supervisor responsibilities included) into our team.

We are passionate about creating a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters respect for others, develops resilience, promotes high expectations and prepares young males for successful futures.

The main responsibility of the post will be to support teachers in the delivery of the curriculum, both by directly working with pupils and assisting in preparation of resources. We are looking for applicants who are innovative, enthusiastic and flexible and have an interest and knowledge of child development and an understanding of child protection procedures.  Applicants should also be able to demonstrate a sensitive and emphatic approach to working with young pupils. 

If successful, you will become part of a very committed and hardworking team. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable it is not essential.  We will provide you with high quality training and support.

You will be required to work Monday – Friday, from at least 8.30am –3.15pm (working hours to be discussed at interview and agreed on successful appointment), and term time only.  We are a friendly and supportive team, with additional benefits, such as free daily lunch.
