St. Mark’s School is a mainstream secondary academy in the Midsomer Norton Schools partnership Multi Academy Trust. Our vision is to promote self-worth that inspires our students to live well, achieve their goals and be a force for good in their school and in the world.

The school will shortly run a Resource Base (subject to consultation) on its site for children and young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) who have an EHCP but who are unable to fully access a mainstream education. The name of the base is the St Mark’s School MLD Base.

The resource base will allow students with MLD to be able to access mainstream education where they receive a meaningful and personalised/bespoke education while at the same time integrating within a mainstream setting. Students will be taught by specialist staff which consists of a qualified teacher, a Level 2 TA and a 0.5 FTE HLTA, who support them to learn in a non-threatening environment so that all grow into independent, confident and competent learners who contribute to the school and wider community. The MLD base will allow St. Mark’s to provide the expertise and an environment in which we can provide these young people with the education that they deserve.

The resource base will be run from Orchard Lodge, which has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. It provides an excellent environment for staff and students with new equipment throughout which makes this a very exciting time to be joining the team at St. Mark’s School.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We follow safer recruitment practices and appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Applications are invited from talented and enthusiastic individuals who are willing to contribute to the wider life of the school, and I do hope that, having read all of the details regarding the position and having studied the job description, you apply to become part of this ambitious, friendly and supportive school.

About St Mark's School, Bath

St Mark’s School, Bath, seeks to provide excellence in education as a mixed comprehensive school.

“Our vision is to promote self-worth that inspires our students to live well, achieve their goals and be a force for good in their school and in the world.”

We achieve this through our dynamic curriculum, our careers and aspirations programme and extensive enrichment opportunities, encouraging our young people to thrive as principled, well-rounded young men and women and to be the best they can be in all that they do – “Let your light shine” (Matthew 5:16).

The school converted to an academy on 1st May 2020 and joined the The Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership Trust. The MNSP is a multi-academy trust consisting of seven Secondary Schools, including another secondary school located in Bath (Beechen Cliff School) and sixteen Primary Schools.

We continue to build on our successes and progress as a member of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership. This group of schools work together as a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) across county boundaries and have thrived via this partnership. St Mark’s School benefits from the sharing of expertise and resources along with other schools in the MAT.

The school has undergone some significant refurbishment recently as part of an ongoing programme to ensure the school is an inspiring environment, with modern facilities, to support high quality learning. Teaching is enhanced through collaborative working to share best practise, allowing students to access new activities and events across the MAT partnership.

We enjoy strong partnerships with local businesses, charities and universities that help promote students’ personal development.

We are committed to educating and developing young people spiritually, morally, socially and culturally, as well as academically. Everything we do is underpinned by our Christian ethos and core values of Aspiration, Resilience and Community.

Our desire to inspire all students is extended through our post-16 provision, The New Sixth, as a platform for future success in higher education and the workplace.

Our website will provide you with a flavour of the vibrancy of our school and the expectations that we have for our students. To find out more see  www.st-marks.org.uk
