Linwood School is an ‘outstanding’ (Ofsted January 2018) multi-campus, day special school for children aged 4 – 19.  We welcome pupils from a wide geographical area and support a comprehensive range of special educational needs including moderate (MLD), severe (SLD) and profound (PMLD) and complex learning difficulties (CLDD) as well as pupils on the Autism spectrum.

We are seeking to appoint highly motivated, committed Teaching Assistants to join our expanding team.  Due to the special educational needs of our children and young people this role can be challenging and physically demanding, however this work is also very rewarding. Resilience is a key personal quality for the role as is the ability to communicate effectively using a range of tools.

Appointments are made to Linwood School and we currently have vacancies at Springwood and Linwood campuses from April 2019.  Successful candidates will be based at either campus in line with their skills, abilities and experience.

Positions are for 27.5 hours per week initially to be worked over 5 days, Monday to Friday 9.15 a.m. - 3.30 p.m., term time only. Consideration will be given to applicants, who wish to work fewer hours per week on the proviso those hours would be full days.

Following successful completion of the 6 month mandatory probationary period there will be an option to increase working hours to 30 hours per week, with salary rising, currently, to £11,664.  Linwood School offers career progression opportunities for Teaching Assistants wishing to enhance their skills further in an education setting, leading to Specialist Provision Teaching Assistant or Higher Level Teaching Assistant status.
