Teaching Assistant - Casual Hours

We are recruiting a bank of Teaching Assistants to support Junior School classes and after school club on an ad hoc basis as planned and unplanned cover for staff.

The Role: 

St Gabriel’s has a thriving co-educational Junior School offering a broad and exciting curriculum and learning environment. As part of our supportive staff team, you will gain an understanding of each individual pupil's strengths and support them in reaching their potential.

Our children learn as much outside their classroom as they do in it. You will enjoy offering creative opportunities for activities outside the curriculum, promoting team-building and problem-solving skills, helping pupils to broaden friendship groups and their horizons.

This role may involve working in the classroom during the day and/or in one of our after-school care rooms.

Person Specification:

·        Experience in childcare/education

·        Qualification in children or teaching

·        Able to motivate and encourage pupils;

·        Confidence, creativity and high standards of conduct; 

·        Professionally discreet and able to respect confidentiality; 

·        Ability to communicate effectively with parents, carers and other professionals; 

·        Ability to work as part of a team, reliable, good time keeper, patient and caring.
