Vision for Education are actively seeking to recruit for experienced Learning Support Assistants who have existing experience within an SEMH environment, to work in a fantastic school in the Chesterfield, Clay Cross working with KS1 to KS5 students.
The role
This excellent opportunity would be ideal for an experienced LSA or equally someone with a strong background within a similar setting i.e. residential care for young people, who is looking to carry out long term role in the Chesterfield area. Your role will see you providing support to the class teacher and other LSA’s within small classes across all key stages up to 4.
Working with students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties is an extremely rewarding environment to work in and requires someone who has a nurturing yet resilient approach within the classroom, it is essential that you have previous experience in this area.

Set in beautiful rural Chesterfield, this school focuses on the education of young people who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties and SEND including ASD, ADHD, PDA and attachment disorders.

Requirements
To be considered for the position of SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
• At least 6 months experience in a similar environment
• Have experience supporting children and or young adults with SEMH
• Ideally have your team teach level 2 training
• Hold an enhanced DBS which is registered to the update service – Vision can assist with obtaining this if required
• Own transport is ideal due to rural location
• Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of specialist teachers
• Have a passion for supporting students and teachers, with the ability to work in small groups and on a 121 basis
