About the Role

Ready to do something that truly matters? At Park School, you’ll help children and young people with Autism and additional learning needs discover their strengths, build confidence and achieve more than they ever thought possible.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll be so much more than classroom support. You’ll be a trusted role model, champion and source of encouragement — building meaningful relationships, celebrating progress and helping pupils overcome barriers, develop independence and believe in themselves.

Every day will bring new opportunities to make a difference. Working alongside passionate teachers, therapists and our multidisciplinary team, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where every pupil feels understood, valued and empowered to thrive.

No specialist experience? No problem. Whether you’re coming from education, care, youth work or support work, we’ll give you the training, guidance and career opportunities to grow your skills and build a rewarding career where the difference you make is felt every single day.

What You’ll Do

  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups and within the classroom to help them engage in learning and achieve their individual goals.

  • Work alongside teachers to deliver creative, engaging and personalised learning experiences.

  • Encourage pupils' communication, confidence, emotional wellbeing and independence.

  • Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), Communication Profiles and personalised learning strategies.

  • Create positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

  • Prepare learning resources and adapt activities to meet individual needs.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve the very best outcomes.

  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people.

Who We're Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Adaptable and proactive, able to support pupils in a variety of settings

  • Caring and patient, with a genuine interest in helping young people thrive

  • Team-focused, working collaboratively alongside skilled staff in a supportive environment

  • Willing to learn, with an open and positive approach to training and professional development

  • Qualified with GCSE English and Maths Level 4/C (or equivalent)

Whether you’re supporting classroom learning, leading outdoor activities, or helping pupils build independence and self-belief, your work will help shape lives.
