Job overview

Bideford College are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring teaching assistant to join their team.

The role is a pro-active one in the support of students’ educational, social and physical needs across Key Stages 3 & 4; to support the curriculum and the College through the provision of assistance to the teacher in the practical organisation of class activities and small group work. Experience is an advantage but not necessary as development of the role is available through in-house training opportunities.

Grade B, £9.90 per hour, with effect from September 2022 (£19,099 FTE), Actual salary based on 30 hours £12,809.10

Mon – Fri (8.35am to 3.00pm with ½ hour unpaid break), on a term time only basis, fixed term for one year, although there is the possibility to extend for the right candidate.

Bideford College is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Bideford, Devon. In March 2016, the school opened as a new academy sponsored by Launceston College Multi Academy Trust. Children can attend off-site education at North Devon Personalised Learning Service and through the Medical Tuition Service.

A larger than average secondary school, Bideford College provides 1,744 places for students between the ages of 11 and 18 when fully subscribed.
