We are looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join our team at Trinity School in Teignmouth, Devon.

About Trinity School

Trinity School is situated in 14 acres overlooking the town of Teignmouth and Lyme Bay. The site has accommodated centres of Christian-based education since 1879. Trinity School was formed in 1979 and is a joint Roman Catholic and Anglican foundation. The school became part of the Alpha Schools group in November 2019. The present school numbers almost 240 pupils, with a fairly even split between the Preparatory Department (ages 3 to 11 years) and the Senior Department (ages 11 to 19 years), of whom about 35 are boarders. The Head, Mr Lawrence Coen, is a member of the Independent Schools Association (ISA) and the Society of Heads.

The Headmaster is responsible to the Governors for the overall successful running of the School. He is assisted by the School Management Team (SMT), namely the Deputy Head, the Head of the Preparatory Department and four Assistant Heads.

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent, TTO

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:25am – 5:00 pm

Salary: £ 9.50 per hour

Teaching Assistant will be responsible for:

  •  Working as part of a dedicated and professional staff our cover supervisor steps in when a teacher is unavailable to take a lesson. 
  • Playing a full part in the life of the school community, to support its mission and ethos and to encourage all staff and students to follow this example
  • Working collaboratively with parents, carers and staff for the achievement and well-being of all pupils
  • Inspiring colleagues and children through personal example and hard work
  • Implementing all school policies and procedures
  • Promoting the Welfare and Safeguarding of all pupils
  • Being a role model for pupils
  • Part of this role will involve safeguarding responsibilities including the reporting of any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Team

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Receptive to the needs of the pupils, parents, and staff
  • Helpful and possesses a co-operative attitude
  • Is happy to train in basic First Aid

Trinity School is an independent, co-educational, all-through school for children aged 3-19 years old. It is situated in Teignmouth, Devon, and has approximately 490 day and boarding pupils. Bursaries and scholarships are available.

Trinity School was founded in 1979. It is a Christian school built on joint Anglican and Roman Catholic foundations. Pupils of all faiths and none are welcome in the school, which follows a Christian ethos in all aspects of school life.

Lessons are well prepared and teachers use their subject knowledge well to encourage and support their pupils.”
