If so, you might be just what we are looking for! We would like to appoint a ‘Teaching Assistant for Physically Impaired’ students from March 2018 to join a strong and dedicated team of support staff in our SEN department.
Bushey Meads School provides education for the full ability range of children, including students with varying degrees of special educational needs. The successful candidate will have a varied range of responsibilities, including classroom, general welfare and attention to students’ physical needs. Bushey Meads School strives to ensure that individual needs, interests and abilities are recognised and met. The school works hard to encourage all students to be independent, resilient and able to make positive life choices with confidence regardless of any additional emotional or physical needs they might have.
The post is for 33.00 hours per week (excluding unpaid breaks), term time + 1 week to include 5 INSET days and is a fixed term contract until 31st August 2018 in the first instance. The actual salary is £12,728p.a. + £637p.a. which is APT & C Point 14 plus London Fringe, paid pro-rata for the hours worked. Please note: the post includes personal care duties for students.
Applicants should be educated to post 16 level or above and have a high degree of common sense. Experience of working with young people is desirable but the willingness to undertake suitable training is essential. Applications from candidates with primary school experience are welcome to apply.
