Gillingham Primary School, Dorset, have a great opportunity for an experienced class teaching assistant to join our large, friendly and dedicated team.
Working under the close direction of the class teacher, you will play a key role in the education of our wonderful children. You will work with groups and individuals to support and guide them in their learning and wider development, as well as being a support to the class teachers.
The successful candidate will be committed to raising standards and achievement and skilled at building excellent relationships with children, staff and parents. You should have high expectations of children and be able to demonstrate a dedication to working as part of a professional team.
You will be:

· An excellent communicator, able to both listen and share your own thoughts and opinions

The contract will be 25 hours per week, term time only with the hours of work still to be agreed.

Gillingham Primary School is a two-form entry LA maintained school, located in the centre of Gillingham town in North Dorset close to Gillingham Secondary School to which most of our pupils transfer when they are 11.
We are a diverse and inclusive mainstream school, also hosting Specialist Resourced Provision (BASE); a 14 place unit for pupils with an EHC plan and Complex Communication Needs.
There are currently 12 classes in the school, in addition to the ‘Sky Base’ class mentioned above. We have two classes per year group except for Year 1 and Year 3, where there is one class. Every class has a fully qualified teacher and we have extensive Teaching Assistant support throughout the school.
