The Reach Free School is a new secondary Free School which opened in September 2013 for the young people of Mill End, Maple Cross and Rickmansworth.
Borne from the need for more secondary school places in the area, The Reach Free School has been established and developed by a group of teachers and local parents. It aspires to be an outstanding school, where every child achieves academic excellence, contributes to their community, and enjoys learning.
The school is seeking a talented, supportive, adaptable individual to take on the broad role of Assistant Teacher in the new school.
The role has many aspects including:
•Supporting a mixed ability class of year 7 pupils in their different subjects
•Fulfilling the role of form tutor for those pupils
•Offering extra-curricular activities as part of our integrated programme
•Promoting reading for pleasure
•Covering for colleagues in their absence
The role would suit a graduate seeking experience of a school environment prior to embarking on a programme to gain qualified teacher status.
In return we will offer you:
•A happy and supportive working environment with high expectations and standards
•Opportunities to develop a broad range of skills in a vibrant and evolving environment
•Opportunities to progress to a career in teaching via the Schools Direct programme where viable
If the challenges of working to establish a new, outstanding local school appeal to you, then we would like to hear from you.
