Job overview

King Henry School has a core team of Teaching Assistants, locally known within the school as Inclusion and Support Assistants. We have a number of opportunities now available and are keen to receive applications from candidates that are passionate about working with secondary-aged students to support their learning. Working with students on a 1-to-1 basis, in small groups or with general assistance for whole classes, the role of a Teaching Assistant is varied but fundamentally relies on continuity of support to be successful. Working under the line management of the SENCO, you'll provide intervention for learners who may be struggling to ensure they are still able to access learning from an academic and welfare perspective. Our ideal candidates will be patient, empathetic and able to adapt to working with students from different backgrounds and with differing needs.

The working basis of this role is 36 hours per week during Term Time plus 1 week inset.

We are committed to providing equality and fairness throughout our recruitment and employment practices and not discriminating on any grounds.

About Leigh Academy Bexley

Our Vision

We believe that every student should have the opportunity to be extraordinary through developing academic, physical and emotional confidence. This means having the courage to take risks and learn from their mistakes.  Success in education, as in sport, is the result of successive small failures followed by ever increasing challenges. As we tell our students;  “Everything worth achieving is outside your comfort zone.”
