This role as Teaching Assistant is ideal for a graduate interested in a career as a teacher. Many of our teaching assistants go on to become successful qualified teachers or other education-related roles such as Educational Psychologist. A high level of support is offered through the Kingston Teaching Alliance, led by the Coombe Academy Trust.

The successful candidate will work alongside and under the guidance of the SENCo and will be required to support individual students and small groups.  This exciting and rewarding role requires someone who is patient, flexible, adaptable, a team player and who is also able to show initiative, both in the class situation and with groups/individuals.

Coombe Boys’ is a popular and highly successful non-selective 11-18 school that is federated with Coombe Girls’ School and three local primary schools to comprise the Coombe Academy Trust, based in New Malden.  Coombe Boys’ has approximately 900 students on roll, including a mixed sixth form.

Results at GCSE and in the Sixth Form are significantly above national averages and the school was graded Good with Outstanding Leadership & Management in its most recent Ofsted inspection (March 2018).

Coombe Boys’ School is a comprehensive secondary school offering a broad and balanced curriculum to local boys aged 11-16. We also have a mixed sixth form run in close collaboration with Coombe Girls’ School.  There are currently 973 students on the school roll, of which 103 are in the sixth form.  The school has held academy status since 2012, as part of the Coombe Academy Trust (CAT) which also incorporates Coombe Girls’ School, Knollmead Primary School, Green Lane Primary & Nursery School, and Robin Hood Primary & Nursery School.  The school is based in New Malden close to the A3 and with Motspur Park station within 8 minutes walking distance.
